Dr. Vasos Vassiliou is an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus since 2011. He is also the Associate Director of the NetRL at UCY. He held positions as a Lecturer and Visiting Lecturer at the same department (2005-2011 and 2004-2005 respectively) and as an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of Intercollege (2002-2004). He has published several articles H2020 WIDESPREAD 2014 1 68
in International Conferences and Journals and participates actively in COST actions, local, and European Projects.

His research interests include protocol design and performance aspects of networks. In particular: Mobility Management, QoS adaptation and control, Resource Allocation techniques, Wireless Sensor Networks (topology, congestion, and mobility control, security), and Internet of Things. He holds a M.Sc. (1999) and a Ph.D. (2002) from the Georgia Institute of Technology both in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a member of IET (former IEE), IEEE, ACM, and participates in the Technical Program Committees of several conferences, such as Globecom, VTC, PIMRC, WNET, EW. He is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Telecommunication Systems.
