Professor, Head of the Virtual Environments and Computer Graphics (VEGG) group, Computer Science Department Director of the Engineering Doctorate Centre in Virtual Environment, Imaging and Visualisation Deputy Head of the Computer Science Department http://vecg.cs.ucl.ac.uk/ Professor Anthony Steed, is head of the Virtual Environments and Computer Graphics (VECG) group at University College London and Director of the Engineering Doctorate Centre in Virtual Environments, Imaging and Visualisation (EngD VEIV). He graduated from the University of Oxford in 1992 with a B.A. in Mathematics & Computation. He was awarded his Ph.D. in 1996 from Queen Mary College, University of London in the area of immersive virtual reality systems. From 1996 he has been at University College London, first as a Research Fellow, then as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader and, since 2009, Professor. His research interests range from real-time computer graphics systems, through novel displays, to user-evaluation techniques. From 2001-2010 he was a Business Fellow or Special Interest Group Leader of the London Technology Network. In 2006-2007 he was on a secondment to Electronic Arts. He consults to several companies in the areas of computer graphics, new media and interaction design. He is a co-founder of a current university start-up company. He is on the editorial boards of the International Journal of HumanComputer Studies, Presence: Teleoperators & Virtual Environments and Computers and Graphics, Frontiers in Robotics and AI (Virtual Environments). He is a member of ACM & Eurographics. Professor Steed is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Visualisation and Computer Graphics, and is a member of the IEEE H2020 WIDESPREAD 2014 1 62 Visualisation & Graphics Technical Committee. He was one of the program chairs of IEEE Virtual Reality in 2007, 2008 & 2009. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society.
