Associate Professor, Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts Founder and Coordinator of the Visual Media Computing Research Lab (VMC@CUT) http://www.cut.ac.cy/mga/research/vmc/Home/ Dr. Andreas Lanitis is currently an Associate Professor, in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology. Dr Lanitis is the coordinator of the Visual Media Computing Research Lab (Visual Media Computing ) and also serves as the Vice Dean of the School of Fine and Applied Arts, Cyprus University of Technology. Dr Lanitis received the degree of B. Eng in Electronic Engineering (1991) and PhD in Image Processing and Computer Vision (1995), both from the University of Manchester, UK. Subsequently he carried out research in the Division of Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering, University of Manchester. Between 1997 and 2007 he worked at the School of Sciences and Engineering, Cyprus College. Dr Lanitis research interests are focused on applications involving face image interpretation, face image coding, restoration and synthesis, automatic age progression and non-invasive multi-modal human computer interaction, Biometrics and Cultural Heritage related applications of computer vision and virtual reality. Dr Lanitis has published more than 100 papers in scientific journals, edited books and conference proceedings. According to Google Scholar papers authored or co-authored by Dr Lanitis received more than 3200 citations. During the last 20 years Dr Lanitis was the principal investigator or partner in more than 15 externally funded research projects.
