Alessandro Artusi is a Ramon y Cajal fellow at the University of Girona, Spain. He is a member of the IST/37 coding of picture, audio, multimedia and hypermedia information, ISO/IEC/JCTC1/SC29/ WG1 (also known as JPEG) and ISO/IEC/JCTC1/SC29/ WG11 (also known as MPEG) Committees, co-editor of the new JPEG XT standard, and recipient of the Emerging Standards Awards from the British Standard Institute. He has contributed to more then 40 papers, 2 books, courses, and patents in his fields of research.
